Testimonials & Feedback

St James Centre, Edinburgh - "Dem-Master has and continues to work alongside LOR at Edinburgh St James with a great attitude. They are very open and forward when issues arise on site. They have vast experience in the demolition industry and have a great team who work together very well and have very skilled operatives that gives you confidence that the works are in safe hands. Due to Dem-Masters excellent performance we asked if they would carry out the bulk dig (in the region of 330,000 cubic metres) and this is now in full swing and progressing very well. From the directors to the project managers to the workforce all the work has been carried out in a very professional manner and I /we would not hesitate in using Dem-Master for future works."

Richard Mullholland ( Laing O'Rourke )

Glentress, Peebles - "Great turnaround at very short notice when another contractor let us down. Two weeks from initial contact to works starting on site….Amazing! Bat Ecologists on site provided high praise for the operatives they were working alongside, reporting that that they were “extremely knowledgeable and accommodating"

C Mullholland ( Head of Building Surveying )

Custom House, Glasgow - "Dem-Master went over and above on this project, nothing was a problem for the site team or the commercial team. The project had a staggered programme which was dealt with without any issues whatsoever. Commercially Dem-Master were aware of the Client’s requirements and were helpful throughout in that regard. A job well done!"

B McGhie ( Partner, Gardiner & Theobald )

Argyle Street, Glasgow - "I would like to praise your company who are presently taking down the old listed building in Argyle street. I work near here in York Street and have been watching the progress of this since the demolition started. I must say when you pass the site and you see the men working they are always so pleasant and say hello. I use the short cut at the back of the street and they have this place so clean and everything seems to be done with massive health and safety in mind not just to the public but to the workers too. This is a huge task what they are doing and I have never seen a site kept so tidy and walking up the street at the end of the day you would never know they have been working. I just wanted to mention this as I am sure the job is not an easy one due to the location of the site but they are doing a wonderful job. Well done to them all"

M McGeady ( Local Resident / Worker )

We have worked with Dem-Master Demolition Limited on many demolition projects in the East of Scotland, the most recent contract completed was Graham Street Campus in Dundee.

As a result of that contract we have since awarded another 3 contracts to Dem-Master being Melrose Terrace, Dundee, Hillside Halls, Dundee and Kinross High School.

We have always received a professional service with an excellent approach to Health and Safety, and community liaison resulting in excellent customer service to the local area in which they work.

Stewart Graham ( Persimmon Homes East Scotland )

3-8 St Andrew's Square, Edinburgh - "We can confirm that Dem-Master were our appointed specialist for the demolition of the buildings residing at 3-8 St Andrews Square. We have been very impressed throughout by Dem-Master's commitment and the level of involvement from their Directors in the management and execution of the demolition works. We have also been impressed by the expertise of the supervision and operatives involved in directly undertaking the demolition works.

This was a complex and challenging city centre project surrounded by other buildings and with very limited access to roads and footpaths for setting up plant and creating exclusion zones. The works were completed ahead of schedule and we are pleased to report without any injuries, which given the high risk nature of the works and the complexity of this project is a major achievement. We would have no hesitation in recommending the selection of Dem-Master for future demolition works and would be happy to provide a verbal reference if requested."

Craig Paterson, Senior Project Manager & Phil Bates, Senior Site Manager ( Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd )

King Stables Road, Edinburgh - "We have employed Dem-Master on several occasions for asbestos removal and demolition. They have completed their works safely, within the agreed timescales and within budget.

We are currently employing them on our King’s Stables Road project in Edinburgh, where there are complicated temporary works involved to a Medieval wall, which is to be retained. Asbestos removal is complete and demolition is currently in progress.

We would have no hesitation in working with Dem-Master on future projects."

Neil Shaw ( Construction Director, Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd (North East & Scotland) )

The works completed to date comprise soft stripping, asbestos removal with the ultra long- reach machine operations having now progressed.

All works to date have been carried out and completed to a high standard in accordance with all current legislation."

Kenneth Crookston ( Glasgow Housing Association Ltd. (GHA) )

"Carlsberg doesn't do Demolition firms, but if they did ...
they would be Dem-Master. PERSES has had the pleasure of working with Dem-Master on several significant projects over the years and we have been lucky to have a front-row seat to witness the continual improvements in safety standards throughout the group of companies. Dem-Master has tackled some of the most complex demolition contracts in Scotland in recent years, and yet enjoy an accident to man-hour ratio which would be the envy of any company, even in less hazardous industries. I feel this is due to the level of planning the managerial staff put into place at an early stage in the process and the discussions held with all stakeholders including site operatives and site staff at the vital panning stage to ensure things are as accurate as possible."

Stephen McCann FInstLM ( PERSES (Independent H&S Auditor) )

Queen Street Station, Glasgow - “Demolishing redundant buildings in the heart of Glasgow and in a live station environment has been extremely challenging, with over 47,000 customers passing through the station each day."

John McHugh ( Graham Construction )

BOC, Motherwell - "Many thanks for the excellent job in the successful completion of the BOC Motherwell demolition scope. Your staff worked very well and more importantly, very safe. The team work and interaction with the BOC Project staff was good to see and coupled with regular site meetings, communication both ways flowed well. Commercially, on my part, Dem-Master have been great to work with. I have been involved in many site demolition projects over the last 5 years and believe you and your management team have by far been the most agreeable to work with. I would have no hesitation is offering Dem-Master further opportunities to work for BOC. Many Thanks once again for a good and safe job."

Kevin McMillan, BOC ( BOC, Motherwell )

Fullarton Street, Irvine (High Rise Blocks) - "This project was delivered successfully and without safety issue in a difficult location. The demolition was carried out in close proximity to occupied premises and a traffic sensitive main road. The Contractor was proactive, and engaged directly with local community groups and neighbours, making the overall experience very favourable for us as a Client."
